Preach On!

I have come to the conclusion that preachers are most underappreciated. Throughout the Bible we see the common trend of how preachers or God's men are persecuted, scorned, and underappreciated. In our day people have gotten a misguided idea of preachers through the media, televangelists, and heretics. It is assumed by many that most preachers are only out for fortune, fame, or finances. Brethren, we know this is not true and I think it's time we start helping and encouraging each other to preach on. Not all preachers are like this and there is probably at least 50 good preachers for every Benny Hinn, T. D. Jakes, or Billy Graham out there. I'm talking about King James Bible Preaching, fundamental, sin hating, devil fighting, God pleasing, old fashioned, Holy Ghost filled, God sent, and God called preachers. This message is meant to be of an encouragement to those kind of preachers. God's men are quitting on every hand. Whether it be because of discouragement, trials, pressures, or sin they are falling out in abundance. I say don't quit preacher. Preach on Preacher, Preach on. I want to give you 7 reasons not to quit. It has been said that God doesnt' need us and this is true, but he did call us and he does want to use us to get the job done. Don't quit preacher, just don't do it.

A. Devouring our local churches. Satan will not prevail against the body of Christ, but he is putting a whooping on our local churches.

B. Devouring our homes. Women are running our homes and our kids are disobedient and unruly.

C. Devouring our schools. Darwin's theory of evolution is taught as fact and homosexuality is taught as normal.

2. Preach on because of the REMNANT of believers.

John 1:11,12 "He came unto his own and his own recieved him not. But as many as many recieved him to them gave he the power to become the sons of God; even to them that believe on his name."

A. Remnant are under attack: 1st Timothy 3:12 "Yea, and all that will live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 1st Timothy 4:1 says they are being attacked with doctrines of devils." Preacher, the Bible says you are an undershepherd, and a shepherd will protect his sheep from the wolves.

B. Remnant needs to be fed: 1st Peter 5:2 "Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly, not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind." God might not need us and or could replace us but he has put you over a flock or ministry and preacher it's time to feed them not quit on them.

C. Remnant needs a Godly example to follow: 1st Peter 5:3 "Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but examples to the flock..."

3. Preach on because REVIVAL is still possible:

I know that the Bible says this world would wax worse and worse and that the love of many would wax cold but it does not say you cannot see revival in your local church or in your community. 2nd Chronicles 7:14 is still in the bible and is still our ensample and recipee for revival. "If my people whcih are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land."

A. Five revivals in the Old Trestament and each of them were a result of the PREACHED WORD OF GOD.

B. Revival is God's will for your local church and for any individual beliver who is walking far off.

C. Revived Christians are the perfect example for new converts and babes in Christ.

4. Preach on because there are some to RESTORE:

Galatians 6:1 "Brethren, if a man be ovetaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, RESTORE, such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted."

A. Unless those that have become cold-hearted and got out are restored, your local church will not be at its full potential for God.

B. God commanded those that are spiritual to restore them. Preachers if we are not spiritual then we are in bad shape. I know God means anybody who is muture in the Lord but preacher you are definitely included.

C. Restoration is just the Christian thing to do. Christ restored Peter. Barnabus restored Paul. Paul restored Mark.

A. Verse 13 They must call on the name of the Lord. This means of course that they must accept Christ and his finished work as Lord and savior. Notice it says the name of the Lord or in by his authority or according to his authority. He cannot be their savior and not be their Lord.

B. Verse 14 They have to believe on Jesus. They must completely trust Jesus Christ and his propitiation that he made on calvary for the whole world.

C. Verse 14 They have to hear the word of God. In order for them to call on him and believe on him they are going to have to hear about him. Preacher who better to tell them than one who is called of God to preach the everlasting Gospel.

6. Preach on because the RAPTURE is still to come:

1st Thessalonians 4:17 "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

A. The Rapture will end our work on earth during this time of Grace. What will we have left unfinished preacher.

B. The Rapture will end your oppurtunities to win souls. Who's blood will be required at thy hand?

C. The Rapture will end your church and it's members work as a local assembly of believers. How will they meet their maker preacher?

I must admit that I love preachers. It breaks my heart almost unbearably to see a man of God fall or compromise. Preachers there are some reasons for you to preach on. There are some good reasons for you not to quit. You may even know of some that i have not mentioned above. Preacher people do need you and I need you. Preach on Preacher, Preach on for the Glory of God. There is a ROARING lion, a REMNANT of believers, REVIVAL is still possible, backsliders to RESTORE, REDEMPTION for the sinner, a RAPTURE to look forward too, and praise God preacher the Bible says your work is not in vain because there is a REWARD to gain. AMEN and AMEN.
