Dr. Peryn was of St. Johnís College, Oxford, where he was elected Fellow in 1575. He was the Kingís Professor of Greek in the University; and afterwards Canon of Christís Church. He was created Doctor of Divinity in 1596. When placed in the commission to translate the Bible, he was Vicar of Watling in Sussex. His death took place May 9th, 1615. These scanty items may serve to show, that he was fit to take part, with his learned and reverend brethren, in preparing our English Bible for the press.
