Ezekiel 22: 23 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
24 Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.
25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.
28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.
29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.
30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

Mark it down, when God is going to do something he's going to raise up a man. He always has... That isn't to slight the woman.. Thank God for the woman, let me say if it wasn't for our women we'd hardly have a Church here. None of us men would be here either.

What a sad hour we live in where there is such a shortage of men!

Not a shortage of

1. Loud Men
2. Lying Men
3. Lazy Men
4. Loose Men

But there is a shortage of the kind of men that God wants.

I. Men of Principle

Jeremiah 5:1 Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.

Deal with character

Deal with SS, tithing, purity

Knowing what was ahead of Him our Savior went to Jerusalem, knowing all that would befall him there... what character and discipline

Luke 9:51 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, 52 And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.

II. Men of Passion

What a shame that some men get all tore up over the football or a deer or a flag and never get moved by God!

The thing that moves us most is our God…

Phinehas -- Son of Eleazar, the high priest While yet a youth he distinguished himself at Shittim by his zeal against the immorality into which the Moabites had tempted the people

Num 25:1-9 and thus "stayed the plague" that had broken out among the people, and by which twenty-four thousand of them perished. For his faithfulness on that occasion he received the divine approbation

Numbers 25:10 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 11 Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy. 12 Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace: 13 And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.

Psalms 106:30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed. 31 And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.

Jesus our Saviour was filled with passion and zeal... The Bible records, in John 2:17

And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

III. Powerful Men...

Not effeminent men… God deliver us from this abomination.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

That word effeminent is used only 4 times in the NT, 3 of those times it's translated soft.. ( malakos mal-ak-os') reminds me of Milk Toast.. soft, soft to the touch

Hey we live in a day of sissy men...

We live in an hour where the homosexuals run the television industry and love to portray weak men! Indecisive men!

The world loves to blaspheme our Savior and show him with long hair and walking about all effeminate!

1 Corinthians 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

Absolom, the Rebellious traitor son of David had the Long hair...

2 Samuel 14:26 And when he polled his head, (for it was at every year's end that he polled it: because the hair was heavy on him, therefore he polled it:) he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king's weight.

Eyes of Fire --

Revelation 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

IV. Men of Prayer

Isaiah 59:16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

1 Timothy 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

You know why most men don't pray? They don't have what it takes to have a real prayer life…

Our Saviour was a Man of Prayer!

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

V. Men who'll Precede or Lead their families

Genesis 18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

Abraham was called of God because God knew he'd lead his Family...

Some of you men lead everything but your family...

I know men whose wives won't let them come to Church unless they come…

VI. Men who Love Jesus

1 Corinthians 16:22 If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

He Loves You!

Sir do you love Jesus?

If any man love not our Lord Jesus Christ let him be Anathema!

I find it amazing that some men can get mad enough to want to try and whip me out in the parking lot but don't have backbone enough to get out of bed and come to Sunday School. Friend, it'd be a lot easier to get up and get to Church!

No Man can be the Man he is supposed to be man until he's been saved.

No lady should marry or date a man like this unless she is saved...
