"God's Memory --
He Doesn't Forget"

I'm thankful that God chooses to forget somethings...

Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

David prayed a wonderful prayer that a lot of us ought to be praying..

Psalms 25:7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.

Micah 7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Inspite of all He chooses to do for us, in terms of forgiving and choosing to forget our sins.. We Forget God!

Deuteronomy 32:18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

Ps. 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

But this morning I want to deal with what God isn't going to FORGET!

This morning I want to deal with God's memory a bit... May I say this is a two sided coin!

On the positive side...
A. W. Tozer (1897-1963) said, How unutterably sweet is the knowledge that our heavenly Father knows us completely. No talebearer can inform on us, no enemy can make an accusation stick; no forgotten skeleton can come tumbling out of some hidden closet to abash us and expose our past; no unsuspected weakness in our characters can come to light to turn God away from us, since he knew us utterly before we knew him and called us to himself in the full knowledge of everything that was against us. --- This is wonderful, I would say Amen to Tozer~!

God won't forget your Toil for Him

Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Nehemiah said, Lord prayed, Lord remember our Work!

Nehemiah 5:19 Think upon me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people.

Let me me tell you what the Devil uses on people as much as anything... He tells people that what' they have done or what they are doing doesn't matter. It doesn't count. Well it does!

Don't ever quit Working! God remembers what you're doing even when nobody else does!

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

2 Thessalonians 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

If you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead,
either write things worth reading or do things worth writing.
-- Benjamin Franklin

I'll tell you I'm glad He's got a record book in heaven. He's keeping up with our Toil. He knows about any suffering or sacrifice you and I may do... He knows what I'm doing, He'll reward it someday!

1 Peter 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

God won't forget your Prayers!

God remembered ol' Lost Cornelius's prayers and alms...

Acts 10:4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

Acts 10:31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

The Children of Israel been in Egypt about 400 years! First part of that was good times, because of the FaithFulness of Joseph! (Preach right there... any good times we experience are the result of the faithfulness of someone!). But now they've been under bondage, now they are crying out to God! God gonna hear that praying..

Exodus 2:23 And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

Oh friend if it were possible for God to forget your prayers, He'd still have a backup...

Revelation 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

Keep on Praying!

God won't forget your Talk

Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

God's isn't going to forget what I say and what you say! Are you prepared to face what you've said!

Krushev told Nixon that his grandchildren would be communists... God heard that talk! His son defected and just this summer became an American Citizen! Watch your mouth my friend... You'll be eating those words...

Hey Friend, you better watch your mouth. Start talking about someone else's kids and and watch out!

Start running the work of the Lord down -- Watch out!

Proverbs 6:12 A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.

15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.

God won't forget about your Testimony

1 John 3:20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

Preachers need to be careful about putting conditions on Salvation that God didn't put there! Names, Dates, Times, Places.... Thank God when you know all of that.. sometimes though old age may take that away from you.

Getting old can be a problem.. somebody said of older age.. Almost everything hurts. What doesn't hurt doesn't work anymore. It feels like the morning after the night before, and you haven't been anywhere. All the names in your little black book end in M.D. You get winded playing chess. You look forward to a dull evening. You still chase women but have forgotten why. You turn out the lights for economic, not romantic reasons. Your knees buckle and your belt won't. You sink your teeth into a steak and they stay there. You try to straighten the wrinkles in your socks and you find you aren't wearing any. A little old gray-haired lady tries to help you across the street. She's your wife.

There are folks in this building today who have no assurance of Salvation. If you respond to the invitation today, and someone deals with you, they are going to question you about you salvation experience. Most likely you are going to say I've done that but I don't think I'm saved..

II Peter 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Do you have a Testimony?
Be sure God won't forget it!

But if you don't have a testimony!
Be sure God won't forget that either!

You won't get in on you're mom's testimony!
You won't get in on the Church Clerk's testimony!
You won't get in on the SS Teachers testimony!

What is your testimony?
